Aeration & Natural Treatment Study

Application: One Acre Golf Course Pond, Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia

Products Used: Airmax PS40 With 3 Plates Aeration System, MuckAway PRO Pellets, PondClear PRO Packets & Nature's Blue Pond Dye

Abstract:
Gurjaani Region, Kakheti, 1510 Kachret'i, Georgia

The Ambassador Golf Club in Kachret'i, Republic of Georgia, contacted Airmax for a solution to clean up their signature pond on the property. The pond is a relatively shallow (12 Feet), man-made, one-acre pond plagued by heavy accumulations of muck, odor, and floating organic debris. The owner of the golf course and hotel had received numerous complaints from members and guests about the pond and wanted the situation remedied immediately. The management company installed an Airmax PS40 w/3 Plates on July 16, 2018 and applications of MuckAway PRO, PondClear PRO & Nature's Blue Pond Dye began. In two weeks, the entire pond cleared, the muck was reduced significantly, and the floating organic debris disappeared.

Before - mass accumulation of organic material due to little to no maintenance.

Before - skimming and hand removal had no affect on keeping the pond clean and organic free.

Methods:
When the issue originally occurred, workers tried to skim the muck and algae, however that proved to be a short-term remedy and workers couldn't keep up with the rapid accumulations. The decision was made to seek alternative methods to remediate the issue. Treating with natural water treatments will continue monthly and aeration will run continuously 24/7. The Airmax PS40 With 3 Plates Aeration System is designed to turn over the complete volume of the pond twice a day providing an optimal oxygenated environment for aerobic bacteria to begin reducing organic matter in the pond.

After – 1 week after Airmax aeration was installed and first treatments were applied.

After - 2 weeks after installation and application of water treatments.

After – Pond after application of Nature’s Blue Pond Dye

Airmax PS40 With 3 Plates Aeration System
helps the natural bacteria and enzyme products applied work more efficiently. The addition of bottom aeration feeds the natural bacteria products applied to the pond and keeps the pond bottom from becoming anaerobic.

Muck Reducer
MuckAway PRO bacteria pellets, a blend of aerobic bacteria, was added to the pond to eat/remove bottom muck and odor.

Bacteria Packets
PondClear PRO packets contain a natural Bacillus bacteria blend, was applied to keep the total water column clean and free of suspended particulate.

Pond Dye
Nature's Blue Dye was added to add to improve the aesthetics of the pond and to help shade the water column, keeping it cooler and less likely to experience reoccurring coloration issues.
