Airmax® PRx Phosphate Control

For Professional Use Only

Professional Strength Phosphate Control
Permanently Bind Free Reactive Phosphorus
Clarifies Water, without Impacting pH

Overview

Airmax PRx is a proprietary blend of naturally occurring phosphate binders designed to permanently bind free reactive phosphorus (FRP). The professional strength of PRx will not affect pH levels and is safe for use in lakes, ponds, and lagoons.

Improves Clarity

PRx proprietary blend of natural phosphate binders works within the water column to clear up cloudy or murky water associated with chemical herbicide or algaecide treatments.

Easy-to-Apply

When mixed with water in a high-volume tank sprayer the PRx slurry can be distributed uniformly to the surface of the waterbody.

Fish, Plant & Wildlife Friendly

PRx Phosphate Control may be applied to lakes, ponds, and lagoons used for irrigation and/or aquaculture. Water treated with PRx Phosphate Control may be used for recreation, fishing, and other activities immediately after treatment. Safe for recreational ponds, horses, livestock, birds, pets, fish, wildlife, and the environment.

Learn how a 16 week treatment plan using PRx was able to reduce nearly 98% of Free Reactive Phosphorus (FRP) that lead to increased water clarity and a reduction of harmful lake algae blooms in our PRx Phosphate Control Study. Click here to read the full study.

Directions for Use

  1. Determine treatment area as follows: [Length (ft) x Width (ft) x Average Depth (ft)] / 43560 = Acre-feet
  2. Measure initial FRP (free reactive phosphorus) with your preferred test kit.
  3. Use the chart below to determine the amount of product required.
  4. For large applications over 10 acre-feet, please contact Airmax at (866) 424-7629 for site-specific treatment rates.

DOSAGE RATES

FRP Level
(mg/L)
PRx Dosage Rate
(lbs per acre-foot)
0.1 to 0.2 25
0.2 to 0.3 35
0.3 to 0.4 45
0.4 to 0.5 55

WHEN TO APPLY

For best results, apply PRx when plants and algae are minimal or not present. If algae or aquatic plants are present, it is recommended to apply PRx after performing an algaecide and/or herbicide application and only after plants and algae have fallen from the water column. This ensures the maximum amount of FRP are present within the water column before applying PRx.

HOW TO APPLY

Mix PRx with water to make a slurry and apply with a high-volume tank sprayer to the surface of the waterbody. It is important to distribute PRx uniformly for best results.
