Filamentous Algae

Filamentous Algae

What Filamentous Algae Looks Like:

Filamentous Algae will often form mats
that float on the surface of the pond resembling wet wool. Most pond owners commonly refer to this
type of algae as "pond scum", but can often be called string algae, or floating algae. This is a very common type of algae found in ponds, but if left untreated can cover the entire surface of your pond.

How to Treat Filamentous Algae:

Algae Defense Algaecide-

Mix the Following into a Tank Sprayer:
This solution treats 2,000 square feet
- 1 Quart Algae Defense
- 1 to 2 gallons of water

Restrictions: No water use restrictions. Do NOT use in ponds with Koi or Goldfish. If treating water that contains Trout the KH (carbonate hardness) must exceed 50 ppm or trout will be harmed.

THEN
Use The Airmax® Eco-System's 4-Step Process to keep your pond healthy all season.
